Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about CheckACoin, your data and how it works.

01Is CheckACoin available yet?
Not yet. The app is in its final stages of development and testing on Telegram. Follow our Telegram channel for launch updates, product previews and tester invites. This website, with 1,000 coins and the weekly review, is open to everyone now.
02Will CheckACoin trade for me?
No. It never places an order, moves a coin or withdraws. It only accepts read-only keys, and it checks with the exchange what a key can do before saving it. A key that can trade or withdraw is refused.
03Does it predict prices?
No, and nobody can reliably. CheckACoin shows ranges and odds counted from each coin's own history, always with the count, so you can judge them yourself. History, not a forecast.
04Is CheckACoin a signals group?
No. It never tells you to buy or sell. You set your own prices, and CheckACoin tells you when they're reached, with the facts: how far the coin has moved and how often that has happened before.
05Where does the market data come from?
Prices, changes and ranges on this site come from exchanges' public daily candles (Binance, KuCoin or Gate, whichever lists the coin first against USDT). Market cap, rank, supply, labels and the market's global figures come from CoinMarketCap. The app also reads public prices from Bitget, OKX, Coinbase, Bybit and Kraken.
06How current is the data on this site?
It's rebuilt every day at 00:00 UTC, so figures are as of the last daily close. There are no live prices on the website; the app has them.
07What is the usual range, and how is it worked out?
The low and high a coin's day usually stays within, measured from its open. It's counted on the coin's last year: for example, "SOL stayed inside ±4.5% of its open on 251 of the last 365 days". About one day in three goes outside it, and it says nothing about direction.
08How should I read market cap and volume?
Market cap is price times the coins in circulation: a measure of size, not of money invested. Volume is how much traded. Both are easier to read against the coin's own history, which is why coin pages compare yesterday's volume with its usual day. Our guides on market cap and on volume and liquidity explain more.
09Do I have to connect an exchange?
No. You can watch any coin and get alerts at your prices, or try a paper thesis: a plan with a pretend amount and real alerts, with no money involved. Connecting a read-only key adds your holdings.
10Which exchanges are supported?
Read-only keys connect on Binance, Bitget and KuCoin, where the app can check a key's permissions with the exchange itself. Coins you hold on Binance Alpha can be entered by hand. More exchanges come once each one's read-only check has been verified.
11Why do I enter Binance Alpha coins by hand?
Binance's API doesn't share what you hold on Binance Alpha, even with a key, so no app can read it automatically. You enter each coin and its amount once, with no key needed. CheckACoin prices it from Binance Alpha's public market data, counts it in your totals and marks it “entered by you”.
12How do I add a Binance Alpha coin?
In the app, open “Where do you hold crypto?” and pick Binance Alpha, right under Binance. Search for the coin and enter how many you hold. If you know the price you paid per coin, add it afterwards with the pencil on the coin's page. You can enter up to 50 coins. A token taken off Binance Alpha can still be added while it trades; a delisted one can't.
13What do I get for a coin I entered?
Its own page from Binance Alpha's public data: price, market cap, holders, liquidity, a candle chart, today's usual range and both sides, plus watch levels, a thesis with sell zones and questions to the AI. A young token's figures use the days it has traded, and say how many. With the price you paid, you also see where you stand against it, your profit or loss, sell zones that start from it, and a message when it trades back above it.
14Which price should I enter for an Alpha coin?
What you paid per coin, on average if you bought more than once. Not the total you spent: if a price looks like a total, the app says so and offers the price per coin. You can change it, or leave it empty, with the pencil on the coin's page.
15I sold a Binance Alpha coin. How do I record it?
Open the coin, tap the pencil and choose “I sold some or all of it”. Enter how much you sold (all, by default) and the total that arrived, after Binance's fee. If you entered what you paid, the app shows your result against that price. The sale stays in the coin's History and is listed under Sold in Holdings for 90 days. Use Remove only for a coin entered by mistake: it records no sale or result. If your Binance account is connected, the money you got counts once it's in your Spot or Funding wallet.
16Do entered amounts update by themselves?
No. Binance doesn't share Binance Alpha balances, so an entered amount changes only when you change it, and each row says when it was last updated. After you buy more or sell, update it with the pencil, or record the sale.
17What do alerts look like?
A Telegram message when a coin reaches a price you set, with a chart picture, how far it has moved and what's usual for that coin. It states the facts and ends with the decision being yours.
18What does the AI see?
If you allow it: your coins as shares of the total, rounded totals, your levels and your own plan notes, plus market data. Never your name, Telegram account, exchange accounts, keys or exact balances. Under every answer, "What the AI saw" shows exactly what it was sent.
19Will the AI tell me what to buy?
No. Asked to say buy or sell, or where a price will go, it says it doesn't do that and answers with the numbers instead. Every number it writes is checked against CheckACoin's own figures.
20Is my API key safe?
It must be read-only, which the app checks with the exchange. It's encrypted the moment it arrives and only unlocked inside our server to read your balances. It's never shown or logged, and a key can be connected to only one CheckACoin account. You can also limit it to our IP address.
21Can I remove my data?
You can remove an exchange in the app's Settings at any time, and its stored key is deleted with it (encrypted backups keep it for up to 30 days). For anything else, write to hello@checkacoin.com.
22Is it free?
Pricing isn't decided yet. We'll publish it here before launch.
